Rodrigo y Gabriela - Stairway to Heaven (Led Zeppelin)

I originally came here to post a Buena Vista Social Club song and after listening to their discography today I couldn’t decide. After a while searching around I was lead to the Rhythm Del Mundo compilations. The last song on the ‘Classics’ album was Rodrigo y Gabriela’s cover of Stairway to Heaven. Their take on this song is just phenomenal. It’s always tough to take such an iconic song and try to make it your own but they exceed with flying colors. I’d expect no less from them.

It has been confirmed that Taylor Nesseth, a nineteen year old from Ontario, Canada, was unfortunately the young girl that passed away today at Vans Warped Tour in Toronto in the middle of Chelsea Grin’s set. Warped Tour has yet to make an official statement, but a heart attack seems to have been the cause of her death. You can read a message that Taylor posted to Tumblr at Warped Tour today in addition to a tweet from Chelsea Grin below by clicking “Read More.”

First Memory, Zelda Tat, by Will.

My first memory is The Legend of Zelda on the original NES when I was 3. I don’t remember much, but my mother told me the first tme I ever touched the game, I got the sword and ran around the world map for about 3 hours just killing different enemies. It was love at first sight. 18 years later I now have a tattoo to show my love for the series.

And thanks for everybody who answered the “First Memory” post the other day, whether with a long-form submission or an answer in the little response box.  I’ll be posting some more stuff throughout the week.

That’s the first time I’ve tried tumblr’s answer mechanic like that, and I didn’t realize it’d just attach ‘em all to the post like that!  Neat that it works that way, though it seems like it’s a pretty cramped space to try and tell a story in.  So, noted for the future I guess!
